Welcome to Adam Power Associates (Rickinghall)
Adam Power Associates was first established in 1983, initially to meet a strong local demand for a prompt and cost effective professional engineering consultancy service in the area. The practice has worked on a great variety of projects such as the Malaysian National Theatre, the National Opera House in Brussels, the Orchard Room for the Prince of Wales, industrial and offshore structures, surgeries, schools, museums, churches and defence related projects. Domestic house extensions, barn conversions and alterations form a large part of our workload.
Based in Rickinghall, near the market town of Diss, our area of work predominantly covers North Suffolk and South Norfolk, however, we also work further afield for clients in areas including London, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Essex.
Recent award winning projects include a contemporary house at Bressingham (with John Taylor Builders), a new village hall at Hacheston (with Mixbrow Construction) and holiday accommodation (with Roberts.Molloy architects) for Best of Suffolk.
As a practice we are particularly interested in traditional building techniques and innovative designs. We enjoy developing designs for the repair of ancient buildings using materials and methods that are both in context with the history of the building and are also structurally efficient. We provided all structural engineering services for a barn conversion at Wyverstone which included an original medieval guildhall and was the subject of Channel 4’s ‘Grand Designs’ programme and is featured in their magazine.
