Adam Power – Director

Adam is a chartered civil engineer with over 35 years’ experience. He started his career as a municipal engineer involved in road and traffic engineering before progressing to the design of structures. In 1983 he formed Adam Power Associates and developed particular expertise and reputation in specialist sectors including offshore, theatre related structures and the repair, refurbishment and development of historic buildings.

Caryn Lofthouse Ackerley – Director

Caryn joined Adam Power Associates in 2011 and is an Incorporated Engineer. She has experience in the design of buildings in all structural materials and has particular expertise in structural works to listed buildings, precast concrete structures and the analysis of steel structures. Caryn has been at the forefront of developing company software for the use of the new Eurocodes in design.

Richard Brown – Consultant

Richard is a chartered civil and structural engineer with over 30 years’ experience. His early career included the design and site supervision of heavy industrial power and nuclear projects along with more conventional structural design projects including the headquarters of the Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia, a new supermarket in Blackpool and new animal welfare centres for the RSPCA. Richard returned to East Anglia in 1993 and gained project management and further design experience in the defence sector. He joined Adam Power Associates in 1998 and has extensive experience in the design of all forms of structures using a variety of materials.
